What exactly is Cash Flow?
Cash flow is a business term used to represent activity of an organization. In the actual sense, it is the outgoing and incoming of cash in an organization. More so, it is the difference in the amount of cash a particular business has within a period of time. Cash flow can be positive when the business receive more money or otherwise known to be negative. There are various ways to increase cash flow in an organization and some of them include:
- Increase in sales of products and services
- Selling of assets
- Reduction in the cost of production and management
- Increase in the actual selling price of a product or service
- Paying debt slower than required
- Collecting money faster from debtors
- Adding more equity to the organization
- Loan collection and others.
So, why is it important that as a business owner you know about cash flow? This is because cash flow is mainly used to assess your business’s quality of income (aka how liquid it is).
